REFORESTATION PROJECT
Our MLK Day of Service continues the collaboration among our groups and the Anacostia Watershed Society to restore the riparian area of the Anacostia River. An infestation of emerald ash borer decimated the area east of the Riverwalk Trail. In spring and fall we concentrate on clearing the area of invasive vines and planting new trees. In winter we remove encroaching brush and secure tree protection. Tap the photo to learn more.
