Join with volunteers from all AWS sites for an after-Cleanup Celebration at Anacostia Park by the Skating Pavilion! Free burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, beverages, roller skating, boat tours, and more fun.

If inclement weather (thunderstorms) occur later in the afternoon, we will notify you of any celebration cancellations by social media and website, so please keep an eye out for potential updates.

Challenging site, no one under 10 will be allowed on the work site.

Wash hands before and after the event. It is recommended that you wash your clothes and shower after returning home. This will decrease the chance of an outbreak of poison ivy.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST CHECK-IN ON SITE.

Meet at 5501 Quincy Street, Hyattsville, MD (behind Cheverly Public Playhouse).

Volunteers under 18 years of age must have permission of and be supervised by parent or guardian.

Time on site will be 11am to 1pm. Participate as long as you are able. Please don't make yourself uncomfortable. Late or early arrivals call Marian 301 775 1191.

Bring refillable water bottle. No single use containers.

Gloves will be available at and returned to a central location.

Some tools will be provided.

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER! This is a rain or shine event. WEAR WATERPROOF FOOTWEAR.

STUDENTS are eligible for COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS. Site Leads can sign forms and verify participation.

AVOID POISON IVY OUTBREAK:
- wear long sleeves and long pants
- lay sheet over large areas before entering wooder areas
- turn clothing and gloves inside out as you remove them and place in bag until they can be washed
- apply Tecnu while on site
- shower soon after exposure with dish or laundry soap and warm water - no abrasives
